Hi!
I’m Hannah—the sole baker, decorator, dishwasher, and dreamer behind Hannah Baked A Thing. This small business is a labor of love, born from a lifelong passion for baking and a deep desire to share beautiful, delicious treats with others.
I’m a self-taught home baker with a full-time day job, which means you’ll usually find me in the kitchen late at night or early on weekends, chasing that perfect swirl of buttercream or testing a new macaron flavor. My love of baking started back in middle school, when I’d beg my mom to let me try the recipes I found in glossy dessert magazines. Once I was finally allowed to use the oven, I was hooked.
I grew up watching the Food Network, reading food blogs, and absorbing everything I could about baking. Over the years, what began as birthday cakes for family and friends slowly turned into a serious hobby—and eventually, a small business. I practiced, I failed (a lot), but I kept going. Each success pushed me forward and reminded me how joyful and meaningful baking can be.
Now, I specialize in Italian Method Macarons, custom Cakes, and playful Cake Pops. Whether I’m crafting a dozen delicate macarons or a bold birthday cake, baking is my creative outlet—and I feel so lucky to get to share it with you.
During the fall and winter months, I also teach baking classes at The Flour Pot in De Pere, my mother-in-law’s cozy culinary classroom. After a few years of coaxing, she convinced me to share my skills in a classroom setting—and to my surprise, I found that I enjoy it. Teaching has become another rewarding way to connect with others through this hobby I love.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting a one-woman baking dream.
Warmly,
Hannah
